It feels like we were born into a race —
expected to become this kind of person,

and leap past the moon,
we’d finally arrive at a better version of ourselves.
But in doing so,
we miss the blooming flowers by the roadside,
and the sunset gently falling on our shoulders.
 
So please —
be a little gentler with yourself.
 
You, too, are a child of the universe.
Just like everyone else,
you are allowed to rest,
allowed to falter,
allowed to simply be.
 
Life will eventually wither, as all things do.
But while you’re here —
Embrace everything you are.

There are a million ways for living flowers to bloom.
Take a moment, sometimes,
to gaze at the stars, the moon, the setting sun.
